Looking Younger

How many of you would like to look younger?  I know I do.  Someone recently commented to me that she needed help because her child told her she was looking old.  Kids are brutally honest, aren’t they?  They will find every bump, line, freckle, mole, or crazy dark hair sprouting from your chin and point it out to you and everyone in the room.

There are so many ways to keep your skin younger appearing, that I will list many today, but discuss some of the most impressive ways in more detail.  First and foremost, a great skincare routine with medical grade products, use of retinoids (prescribed versus over-the-counter), and year-round sun protection are the easiest to do and are done at home.  The next step that is pretty simple to do and keep up are neuromodulators (like Botox and Xeomin) that are essentially wrinkle-reducers because they inhibit dynamic muscle movement for a period of time.  If you don’t move the facial muscles as much, you will have less wrinkles.  Following this, dermal fillers are a quick solution to fill wrinkles and folds, restore volume lost in the cheeks, and augment the lips.  You basically have instant results with this one.

Beyond this, collagen stimulating treatments such as microneedling, Skinfinity Radiofrequency, other radiofrequency treatments or lasers, medium depth chemical peels, IPL Skin Photorejuvenation and others are the true fountain of youth treatments because these all stimulate your body’s own wound healing system to create new, more organized, young and healthy collagens.  The skin will become more toned and elastic, pore-size reduced, wrinkles and scarring reduced, and overall younger-appearing skin. In addition, many of these treatments will improve irregular pigmentation as well, creating a more even coloration.  These treatments don’t give instant results, however.  You will need to wait a few months to see the full effects of your treatments and these need to be done in a series to start, then maintenance at different intervals for best effects.

With the new year upon us, it's a great time to begin a new chapter and rejuvenate your skin.  I can advise you on your skincare and discuss options for your youngest, healthiest new look.  Call 406.742.5256 and schedule your appointment.
