The Beauty of Dermal Fillers

I love dermal fillers! These are some of the greatest products out there, for those of you who only want to do Botox 4 times a year and need some plumping to keep you looking young and beautiful and fresh. You get instant renewed fullness in the cheeks, reduction of lines and wrinkles, fuller lips, diminishing of those dreaded marionette lines, and so much more.
I currently use the Juvederm Dermal Filler line that uses Hyaluronic Acid Fillers. These types of fillers are very safe to use and reversible if needed. But, this is rarely needed or required. This line of fillers has a great reputation, longevity, and several products to choose from to get the best look in each area.
The face begins to drop into a more triangular shape as we age instead of an inverted triangle, as it had been in our younger years. To reshape and contour the cheek area, an area that we often times begin losing fat from which flatten the face, almost like a balloon losing its air, the product of choice for me is Voluma XC. It can last up to 2 years with optimal restoration of the cheeks. Some people will only need 1 syringe but others will need 2 on each side or even more to fully restore the cheek. This often depends on age, weight loss, etc. It is not uncommon to start with 1 syringe of this product on each side and then see how the cheek appears after 2-4 weeks, then add additional product as needed.
The lines that extend from the edge of the nose and pass down by the mouth, looking like a parenthesis line on both sides are called the nasolabial folds. These also often deepen as we age, lose or gain weight, shift fat pads in the cheeks. This is another very common area to get dermal filler placed. The best one to use in this area is Vollure XC that can last up to 18 months with optimal correction.
Many other areas can be optimized with dermal fillers to include augmenting the lips or restoring the lips to a more youthful appearance with either Ultra XC or Volbella XC, adding filler to vertical lip lines to plump them and improve their appearance. The marionette lines can be softened as well as any other lines or hollows in the face to restore a youthful more healthy appearance.
