Pro-G Peel 35

This is a step up from the Pro-G 70 peel since it is an unbuffered peel. It is great for most skin types except for sensitive, very dry, or rosacea skins. This peel is also best performed in a series of 6-8, weekly or bi-monthly.  This is often used after the Pro-G 70 has been performed as a way to “step-it-up”. Improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, luminosity, uneven skin tone and age/sun spots will be seen as well as acne and acne scarring. The copper tripeptides in the peel help produce a firmer skin texture and heal the skin faster and more dramatically.

Questions and Answers:

What is glycolic acid and why should I use it?

Glycolic acid is a type of AHA or alpha hydroxy acid. It is used in many over-the-counter products. In this chemical peel, it is used as an aggressive way to break down the bonds between cells allowing for easier exfoliation of dead skin cells, excess pigment and clogged pores and debris.

I get cold sores sometimes. Should I worry that I will get one after the treatment?

Any treatments being done around the mouth or nose area can trigger an outbreak of a cold sore, therefore, you will require a prophylactic treatment with an antiviral agent to help prevent recurrence of an outbreak. This is a typical question when you are getting your consultation, however, you should always let your provider be aware that you do get cold sores.

I am going to the beach next week. Can I have this peel today?

All chemical peels will increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun and possibility of sunburn. This one contains an AHA or alpha hydroxy acid. You should always use a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF of at least 30, wear protective clothing with a wide-brimmed hat, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for at least a week afterwards (and always). So, the answer to the question would be—no. You should wait at least a week after you return home also.
