Salicylic Acid Chemical Peels

If you suffer from acne and dark pigment marks from acne called post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, this may be a great peel for you. The salicylic acid chemical peel is a wonderful peel for regulating sebum production, loosening the “glue” between dead cells for better exfoliation, and finally getting clearance of that stubborn acne and lightening pigment, evening skin tone. Other hyperpigmentation skin disorders are also treated successfully with this peel.

Questions and Answers:

How many treatments will I need?

Like most light chemical peels, 6-8 peels are typically recommended for successful results. These are typically done every 2 weeks. Thereafter, maintenance treatments are recommended every 4-8 weeks.

What does the treatment feel like?

You will first undergo a diamond-tip microdermabrasion to smooth the epidermal surface, so you will have a very even chemical peel absorption. Once this is completed, the chemical peeling agent is applied to the skin. This will cause some stinging to occur. You will hold a fan close to the skin for comfort. As this chemical peel dries, the stinging stops. Multiple layers of the chemical peel may be applied to achieve the desired results.

I want to just use soap on my skin afterwards. I don’t want to use your products.
