TMJ Pain

Do you have TMJ (Temporo-Mandibular Joint) pain?  The temporomandibular joint can become injured from something as simple as gum chewing.  Or perhaps you grind your teeth at night and don’t even know until you begin having jaw pain.  You may try a night guard to help.  Ibuprofen can help for a time, but it continues to worsen.  You start having clicking and popping noises in your jaw, headaches, jaw soreness, and temple pain.  You go to the dentist and even find your jaw locks at times.

What can be done?  If you haven’t tried Botox or another neurotoxin/ neuromodulator, this may be the next step to alleviate your jaw and head  discomfort or pain.  It does so by reducing and weakening the muscles that act on the temporomandibular joint.
